Steps to Change Email Address for Facebook Account on Any Computer
Changing email address allows you to set up a new email address for your Facebook account and access or manage your account with a new email address. This feature is useful when you wish to delete your old email address with which your Facebook account is associated. In such case, you can simply use your new email address as the primary email address, replacing the old one. Here are the steps to do so:
1.) On your computer, open a web browser and go to the Facebook sign-in page.
2.) Log into your account using the email address and password.
3.) Once you are logged into your Facebook account, click on the down arrow icon located on the top-left side in the menu bar. A drop-down menu will appear on your screen.
4.) From the drop-down menu that appears on your screen, click on the Settings option. You will be taken to the General Account Settings section of your Facebook account.
5.) Under General Account Settings section, click on the Edit option located next to the Contact option.
6.) In the Contacts’ section, you will find your current email address appearing as the Primary Contact. To change your Primary Contact and add a new email address as your Primary Contact in your Facebook account, click on the Add another email address or mobile number option under Contact section of General Account Settings’ page. This will open a dialogue box where you will be prompted to enter your new email address.
7.) Enter your new email address in the provided field in the dialogue box and click on the Add button.
NOTE: After clicking on the Add button, you will be prompted to enter your Facebook account password and click on the Submit button.
8.) Facebook will send an email to the email address entered by you. Go to the Email account and open the email which you receive from Facebook. Click on the Confirm button to add your email address to your Facebook account.
9.) Clicking on the Confirm button will replace your current email address with the new email address in the Contact section of your Facebook account’s General Account Settings.
NOTE: The new email address will become the primary contact for your Facebook account automatically.
10.) Finally, you can either click on the Save Changes button or you can make your new email address as your Primary Email by selecting the Radio button next to your new email address and clicking on the Save Changes button in the Contact section under General Account Settings’ page only. Moreover, you can then click on the Remove button next to your old email address to remove it from your Facebook account.
Steps to Change Email Address for Facebook App on iPhone or iPad
1.) Launch the Facebook App on your iPhone or iPad.
2.) Once the application gets launched on your screen, tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal lines).
3.) Next, scroll to locate and select Settings & Privacy and/or Account Settings option.
4.) Then, tap on the General option and then on the Email.
5.) After that, tap on the Add Email Address option and enter the email address in the provided field. Then tap on the Add Email option.
NOTE: You may be prompted to enter your Facebook account’s password for adding the new email address.
6.) Facebook will send a confirmation email to the email address added by you. Go to the email address and open the email sent by Facebook. Click on the Confirm button (if any) to successfully add your email address to your Facebook account.
7.) Now if you wish to use the new email address as your primary email address, again go to the General Settings in your Facebook app and select Email option.
8.) Tap on the Primary email option and select the new email address from the given options.
9.) Then, tap on the Save button. Wait until Facebook changes your Primary email address from old one to the new one. Once the new email address gets configured as the Primary email, you will be directed back to the previous screen where will see your new email address shown as the primary one.
10.) Moreover, if you wish to remove the old email address, simply tap on the Remove option next to your old email address and enter the password of your account. Then tap on the Remove Email button. The old email address will be removed from your Facebook account.
NOTE: Alternatively, you can also enter the Code given in the email in your Facebook app under Email section in the General setting. This will also add your new email address to your Facebook account.
Steps to Change Email Address for Facebook App on Android
1.) Launch the Facebook app on your Android device and tap on the Menu icon (three horizontal) located on the top-right corner of your screen.
2.) From the drop-down menu that appears on your screen by tapping the Menu icon, tap on the Settings & Privacy option and select Account Settings option.
3.) Under Account Settings section, tap on the General option and then select Email option.
4.) Under Email section, tap on the Add Email Address option. You will be prompted to Add an additional email address in the provided field.
5.) Enter the email address you wish to add in the prompted field and tap on the Add email address button. Then, you will be asked to enter the password of your Facebook account. Enter your password to verify yourself as the rightful owner of the account.
6.) After that, Facebook will send a confirmation email to the email address entered by you. Open the email sent to your email account and click on the Confirm button to successfully add the new email address to your Facebook account.
