Steps to Delete a Gmail Account
1.) Sign in to your Gmail account and click on the Gear icon located on the top-right corner. Select the Settings option from the drop-down menu that appears on your screen. You will be directed to the Settings page.
2.) On the Settings page, click on the “Other Google Account settings” option under the Change account settings option. You will be directed to your Google Account settings page.
3.) Next, under Account preferences, click on the Delete your account or services option. On the next page, select the Delete Products option. Enter your Gmail password if prompted.
NOTE: If you wish to, you can select Delete Google Account and Data instead of selecting Delete Products to delete your entire Google account including Google Docs, AdSense, AdWords, Search history along with other Google services.
4.) On the next screen, click on the click on Trash icon located next to the Gmail option to delete it. A dialog box will pop up on your screen prompting you to enter an email address which you can use to continue using other Google services associated with the account you are about to delete.
5.) Enter the email address in the provided field and click on the SEND VERIFICATION EMAIL option.
NOTE: Google will not delete Gmail until you verify the new email address entered by you in the above step.
5.) Go to the email address entered by you in the above step and click on the link sent by Google for deleting your Gmail account. As you will click on the link, you will be directed to the next window where you will be asked to read the information carefully.
6.) Once you are done reading the information thoroughly, click on the DELETE GMAIL button. Follow further on-screen prompts (if any) to complete the Gmail Account deletion process.
