While you can access your Optlonline email account easily using a web browser on your desktop computer or mobile device, if you wish to access your account on an email client such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, or Mozilla Thunderbird, you will need to have Optonline email settings. When looking to access your Optonline email account using a desktop email application, you will need to have the IMAP and SMTP settings. As these settings are important for sending and receiving emails on your application, it is important to enter them in the relevant fields correctly. Incoming Server – IMAP

- Port: 993

- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your password
Outgoing Server – SMTP
- Server: mail.optonline.net

- Username: Your full email address
- Password: Your password

To Set Up Optonline Email Account on Outlook
- To begin with, you will first need to launch the Outlook email program on your computer. Once it gets opened, you will need to click on the File option located near the upper-left corner of the screen. This will open a drop-down menu on your screen.
- From the drop-down menu, you will need to click on the Add Account option. You will be directed to the next screen.
- On the next screen, you will need to select the checkbox (radio button) next to the Manual setup or additional server types option.
- Next, you will need to select the POP or IMAP option to connect to a POP or IMAP email account.
- Then, you will need to enter the following information in the relevant fields on your screen.
User Information
- Your Name: Whatever you want
- Email Address: Enter your email address
Server Information
- Account Type: Select IMAP
- Incoming mail server: mail.optonline.net
- Outgoing mail server(SMTP): mail.optonline.net
Logon Information
- User Name: Your username
- Password: Your account password
- Select the checkbox next to the Remember password option
- Select Yes option for “Require logon using secure password authentication.”
- Once you are done entering the required information in the relevant fields, you will need to click on the Next button located on the lower-right corner of the screen.
- Then, you will need to wait until Outlook fetches all your emails. Once the emails get loaded in the email program, you can then use your Optonline email account to send and receive emails on Outlook.
To Set Up Optonline Email Account on Apple Mail (iPhone)
You can also set up your Optonline email on an Apple email application like the one you have on iPhone. To know how to configure your Optimum email account iPhone, follow these steps:
- From the application menu on your iPhone, you will first need to tap on the Settings app icon. Doing so will direct you to the settings section of your iPhone.
- In the Settings section, you will need to scroll down to locate and select the Mail, Contacts, and Calendars option.
- Next, you will need to select the Add Account option located below iCloud and tap on the“Other” option.
NOTE: You will need to tap on the “Other” option only when you don’t see your optonline.net email provider listed on the screen.
- Then, you will need to select the Add Mail Account option and enter the following information:
- Name:Enter a name of your choice
- Email:Enter your username
- Password:Enter your optonline.net account password
- Description:Enter a description of your choice

- Next, you will need to select the IMAP option under Incoming mail server and enter the following details on your screen:
- Hostname: mail.optonline.net
- Username:Enter your username
- Password:Enter your optonline.net account password
- Then, you will need to enter the following details under the Outgoing Mail Server on your screen.
- Hostname: mail.optonline.net
- Username:Enter your username
- Password:Enter your optonline.net account password

- After that, you will need to go to the Settings section again and select your Optonline account. Then, go to the Advanced section and enter the following details under Incoming settings.
- Use SSL: Yes
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: 993
- Similarly, you will also need to enter the following details under Outgoing settings.
- Use SSL: Yes
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: 465
